    Supervised Medical Gym


    Our supervised medical gym is part of the L.S. Skaggs Wellness Center. Our gym is designed for individuals who need a little more support to exercise safely. Physical therapists are on site to instruct and assist you. Our gym is also staffed by students from the College of Health.

    Staff offer one-on-one support. Depending on your comfort and ability, you can also work more independently. Our gym promotes a physically active lifestyle in a supportive group atmosphere. 

    Who Should Attend?*

    Our gym benefits individuals with a variety of conditions and backgrounds:

    • Multiple sclerosis
    • Stroke survivors
    • Parkinson's disease
    • Overweight or obese
    • Bariatric patients
    • Others requiring supervised exercise
    • *Other eligibility requirements may apply

    Gym Benefits & Services

    Our medical gym provides a variety of services:

    • A baseline exercise fitness and mobility assessment by an exercise specialist
    • Regular evaluation of exercise tolerance and progress
    • Supervised group-based exercise classes (boxing, dance, tai chi, yoga, etc.)

    Our gym is a safe, supportive place for everyone to be active. Aides monitor your vitals and offer one-on-one support as needed. 

    We also offer group classes on different topics:

    • Nutrition
    • Stress management
    • Sleep hygiene

    Membership is month-to-month and does not require a long-term commitment.

    Monthly dues are $65. *Some individuals may qualify for discounted dues. Please call for more information.

    Most participants receive a referral from their physician. 

    DONATIONS

    Donations to the L.S. Skaggs Patient Wellness Center will offset the cost of participants' attendance to the L.S. Skaggs Patient Wellness Center with limited means to pay for wellness services.     We are located at the Osher Center for Integrative Health 295 Chipeta Way, 4th floor 

    Parking 

    There is free parking located in the structure directly across from the building. If handicap parking is full in this lot, those with a permit can park in the employee  parking structure just north of the building.
